Such is the case with Source Code, in which Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) is suspended in a digital limbo (the 'source code') by his military bosses, who force him to revisit the same eight minutes on board a Chicago-bound commuter train--right before it explodes. With each attempt to ID the bomber--a satisfying picture puzzle of close detail and shifting perspectives--Colter's growing fondness for the doomed commuters divides his loyalties, drawing him into a battle with the Fates themselves. With shades of 12 Monkeys, Avatar and Groundhog Day, Source Code is also the up-tempo cousin of Jones' debut feature Moon, in which a lonely worker’s right to mortality is also violated by a futuristic organization who, in Moon's case, would like to cut an ethical corner (and the cost of lunar labour). Wonderfully executed concept
If you try and describe this film to a friend....it will probably sound appalling. Which is infuriating as this a just a fantastic movie with a hint back to yesteryear when you pretty much had a couple of locations to set the story. The story itself, however,is so good that it doesn't need a plethora of locations and sub stories. It's a fascinating look at time travel, humanity and ethics.Acted faultlessly and with a ending of hope.

Great Film
A very interesting film. Did not have a clue what was really going on to begin with and, even as it progressed, still not sure what was happening until near the end. The ending was a shock, did not see that coming, and it was nicely wrapped up. Acting was very good and I like storylines with an unusual twist so this ticked all the boxes.

Charming
I'll echo other sentiments, a charming film, but I did guess the 'surprise' ending at least a third of the way through the film which kinda spoilt it, but solid stuff from Jake Gyllenhaal, good enough time travel sci-fi drama :)

One of my favourites
I watched Source Code a few times now over the years and it is amongst one of my favourites films. If you are into science-fiction, time-travel and alternative universes then this movie is for you.

Good story, well shot, varied performances
The premise of re-enacting eight minutes of the same period of time to solve a mystery, is a great one. The movie builds up slowly, maybe a bit to slowly for things to get really exciting. Photography was great.The acting performances of Jake Gyllenhaal and Vera Farmiga are great. Jeffrey Wright, who plays Dr. Rutlegde, however, detracts from the atmosphere. The movie is OK, but it will not rank among my favorites.What pissed me off about this release, was the presence of advertisements in amongst the movie trailers, before the main menu. These ads could not be skipped.I paid for this movie, there should be NO ADS whatsoever.This movie gets three stars from me. I did not subtract for the ads - if I did, it would get zero....

pleasantly surprised
I've never really been a fan of Jake Gyllenhaal films, but have to say he was very good in Source Code.Being a massive fan of Quantum Leap, I read other reviews who said it was similar to that, so I purchased it without a doubt.So glad I did, as its easily one of the best films I have seen in a long time.

Bought this again
I bought this again because I lost it on dvd and my daughter has never seen it so bought on Blu-ray this time, a great film.

Slow going at first stop the bomber on the train
Not a bad movie traiding bodies to stop a bomb going off and who's responsible. Also get to see the one on westworld series on there
