The Mech 5 has a coding wheel where you can install different coding buttons to create different functions.

Q: Is this robot solar powered

MECH-5 is battery powered. You will need to use 2 (AAA) Alkaline batteries.

Q: Tips to get the coding wheel to contact black gear? Need 1/16".

If the white clips at the front and back that hold the yellow wheel in place aren't snapped all the closed, the gears won't connect properly. Takes a fair amount of pressure to snap them closed completely.
